Jindie-Dollish Collaboration: Batman & The Joker Duo

Press Sample

I first need to apologize for being a bad blogger. I promised Jindie (& Dollish) I'd swatch this amazing duo and I didn't get it done in time for the release. Doesn't Life know that blogging is very important?? But! As of this posting there are still duos left so go go go!

In case you haven't heard of this duo, here is the good stuff--swatches!

Shelby Lou Nails
Dollish Polish
"Why So Serious?"
Batman & The Joker Collaboration with Jindie Nails

Dollish Polish mixed The Joker half of this duo called "Why So Serious?" I never saw the movie because I'm not really into superhero movies (gasp!) but I am into this polish. Why So Serious? is described as "A vibrant purple crelly, jam-packed with micro glitter of varying shades, including holographic lime, burnt orange, indigo, blue, black, holographic purple, iridescent blue, plus sprinkled in are olive, orange, and indigo flakes."

For my swatch I used a base of China Glaze Grape Pop with two easy coats of Why So Serious. I turned my bottle upside down before swatching to get the good stuff that had settled a little. The charms are from Daily Charme. I am surprised by how much I like this! It is such a fun color, and I will totally be wearing this on Halloween.

Shelby Lou Nails
Jindie Nails
"Ever Dance with the Devil in the Pale Moonlight?"
Batman & The Joker Collaboration with Dollish Polish
Jindie Nails designed the Batman half of the duo called "Ever Dance with the Devil in the Pale Moonlight?" I can't even with this polish! The shimmer is insane. Jindie describes this stunner as "A light, moon gray jelly packed with classic-light gold and silver flakies, banana yellow squares and small hex, black triangles and small hex, classic and light gold small hex, ultra fine and fine black and yellow matte hex, black small and medium dots, gunmetal small hex and flakies."

For "Moonlight" I started with a base on all fingers of KBShimmer How You Dune? I then did two thin coats mostly of the base and smaller elements of the polish, followed up with some fishing and dabbing of the bigger glitters which were easy to grab. For the accent nail I made a decal using MoYou London Fashionista 04. I stamped with Rica Blackout, painted in the chevrons with Sally Hansen Insta-dri Lightening with a teeny detail brush, then topcoated it and peeled it up when dry. It's my first successful decal! I think it is the perfect accent to this beautiful polish, which I can't wait to wear again.

This duo is very limited and close to sold out, you can follow the links below to grab your set from your preferred indie gal!

Jindie Nails: A Tale of Two Beauties

Purchased By Shelby Lou (Jindie Nails Phone, Keys, Polish, Check!, Daily Charme)
Press Sample (Jindie Nails The Blue That Holds Us Together)

I am officially over a horrid flu I got last Tuesday night, thank goodness. I had a fever of 101 for awhile there, plus horrible body aches and stuffiness. Since it happened right before New Year's Eve my whole vacation day was ruined, and since I have worked pretty much every other holiday this year that really pisses me off the most. I tried to work on Friday but the doctor I worked with literally called my supervisor and was like, "she is contaminating my floor, she needs to go home" haha! If I had to get the flu, why couldn't it have happened during some uneventful and holiday-free time like February? Ugh, I am so over this. Tomorrow it's back to the grind.

Today I have some AMAZING Jindies to share with you: Phone, Keys, Polish, Check! and The Blue That Holds Us Together. I have shown them both accented with one of my favorite bow charms from Daily Charme--I just can't do a "plain" swatch hehe.

Shelby Lou Nails
Jindie Nails Phone, Keys, Polish, Check!
Phone, Keys, Polish, Check! is a stunning pink jelly polish absolutely packed with shimmer and glitters in matte, metallic, and holographic finishes. I have shown two coats and a coat of Rica's Glossy Glam. I applied my TC poorly and you can see some weirdness in the one of the photos--user error. I can't believe it took me so long to purchase this beauty!

Shelby Lou Nails
Jindie Nails The Blue That Holds Us Together
The Blue That Holds Us Together, Check!'s sister polish, is a bright blue jelly full of coordinating glitters in metallic, matte, and holographic finishes. The overall effect is indescribable, it's like looking at melted metals through water. I used two coats topped with Rica's Glossy Glam.

I hate to say it, but these polishes are way better in person! I've never seen anything quite like them, they are jelly, metallic, holographic, and somehow flakie all at the same time. Both of these colors have a similar formula.

There is a lot of goodness going on in these and the formula is thick, so I added thinner to mine to make it more spreadable. I did a first thinner coat and let that dry well. Then I applied a second thicker coat with a light touch. I found it to clean up rather easy but kept an orange stick handy for when I got too close to my cuticles. If you love blue or pink polish, these are some must-haves in your stash. Follow Jindie on your favorite social media platform to be alerted about restocks!

Jindie Nails Christmas Swatch Spam

Press Sample--Jindie Nails Polishes
Purchased by Shelby Lou--All other products

Today's post is brought to you by nubbins. I hate winter because my nails take twice as much care. I tried rounding them out after a couple broken corners, but I hate them round. I know I'm just not used to it and really they looked fine, but I just dislike it on myself. I wish I could rock the short rounds like some of the greats such as The Dalai Hannah, Wondrously Polished, and The Polish Playground!

In case you are not already in the Christmas spirit, here are a bunch of lovely Jindies to help out. Personally, I was in the spirit around November 12th though--don't judge me.

Shelby Lou Nails
Jindie Nails Holly
Shown over China Glaze I Need A Re-Fresh Mint
Above is Jindie Nails Holly over China Glaze I Need A Re-Fresh Mint. This swatch shows one coat with the red glitters fished and dabbed on. Really nice formula for the little glitters and the red ones were easy to get! The white bow I had from Born Pretty Store and used it in almost all of my swatches. You can pick this polish up in Jindie's etsy store.

Shelby Lou Nails
Jindie Nails The Snow Must Go On
This is Jindie Nails The Snow Must Go On, one of my favorite holiday crellies! I love the lime green glitters mixed in and the teeny stars. Lovely formula, I did three thin coats and then dabbed a few stars and red circles where I wanted them. There are plenty of all the glitters so they were easy to grab. This one is available on the Jindie Nails website.

Shelby Lou Nails
Jindie Nails Just Elfing Around
Shown over Essie Borrowed & Blue
Jindie Nails Just Elfing Around is a lovely red, white, and pale green glitter topper. I have it shown over Essie Borrowed & Blue. This is what I think of when I think of Christmas indie polish! Jensent me an 8ml bottle of this but I think I want buy myself a full size. I can see this over pinks and greens, too. I easily painted on the little glitters and dabbed on the bigger ones. You can purchase this one through Jindie's etsy shop.

Shelby Lou Nails
Jindie Nails Through The Eyes Of A Child
Shown over Essie Going Incognito
Jindie Nails Through The Eyes Of A Child is a shimmery Christmas glitter topper that has everything but the kitchen sink. Every shape of Christmas glitter is in there and I don't think you could get them all on your nails in any one mani. I painted on a shimmery coat and then fished and dabbed the other larger shapes. I did three coats of topcoat to get a completely smooth finish. It occurred to me that dabbing the big shapes on first may have decreased how thick this felt on my nails. I have it shown over Essie Going Incognito. Unfortunately I don't see this one in either Jindie shops right now.

Shelby Lou Nails
Jindie Nails A Surprise Inside
Shown over Orly Coachella Dweller
Lastly is A Surprise Inside, one of the Santa's Secret Sack exclusive polishes. I love this one! I have shown one coat over Orly Coachella Dweller, the accent nail has two coats. You could easily wear this in two coats on its own. I found that applying it like one of the Zoya PixieDusts was easiest. I think I love this one because it reminds me of faded vintage ornaments. And the holo glitters aren't too shabby!

You can purchase Jindie Nails polish through her website or etsy store listed below. Check out the other Christmas goodies she has while you are there!

Guest Post from Boom Shaka Lacquer

Hey hey! It's been a crazy week for me but I've got another guest post to wrap it up. Karel from Boom Shaka Lacquer and I started blogging about the same time last year. We talked a lot in polish groups and she is a lovely lady, I'm so happy to have her on the blog today!

So there are actually TWO giveaways for our blogiversaries going on that you need to check out:
Boom Shaka Lacquer One Year Blogiversary Celebration
Shelby Lou Nails First Blogiversary Giveaway

Okay, let's see what Karel has for us today!

~~~~~~~~~~
Hi!  My name is Karel (or Relly) and I am the blogger and head nail polish addict over at Boom Shaka Lacquer.  I was excited when Shelby asked if I wanted to do a guest post to help her celebrate her Blogaversary month.  It just so happens that it’s MY Blogaversary month too because she and I started about the same time!
I decided I would share a fun Jindie-cure with ya’ll since it’s a brand that both Shelby and I adore!  Without further ado I give you a cute skittlette (something that Shelby inspires me with, her gorgeous skittlettes!) featuring Jindie Nails Fantastical and Blue & Green’s Love Child.
Jindie Fantastical Skitlette.jpg
Boom Shaka Lacquer for Shelby Lou Nails
Polishes used:   Tip Top - Toughen Up Basecoat; Jindie Nails - Fantastical and Blue & Green’s Love Child; Gothic Gala Lacquers - Smooth Me Over; Digital Nails - Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That Topcoat
For this skittlette I put three thin coats of Fantastical on my fore, middle, and ring fingers. Fantastical is a bright coral crelly based polish filled with holographic, metallic, and satin glitters in white and teal.  I’m particularly fond of the large teal holographic dots and the white satin stars!  Then I put ONE coat of Blue & Green’s Love Child on my pinkie and thumb. Blue & Green’s Love Child is a gorgeous teal holographic polish.  Like all Jindie holos they aren’t what I would call linear but they are extremely unique and rich looking.  After that I used some YouPolish chevron decals as masks I created the chevrons on my ring finger.
Jindie Fantastical Skitlette2.jpg
Boom Shaka Lacquer for Shelby Lou Nails
Polishes used:
Tip Top - Toughen Up Basecoat;  Jindie Nails - Fantastical and Blue & Green’s Love Child; Gothic Gala Lacquers - Smooth Me Over; Digital Nails - Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That Topcoat
Let’s talk about how awesome the formula is on Fantastical!  Jindie does crelly-based glitter polishes like no one’s business.  I decided the first time I wore this that I would love this type of polish forever.  Now it did take me a little while to become proficient at applying them but with a little patience and a couple of tricks anyone can do it!  I start with a thin layer as a base for color, I don’t worry about glitter at this point, if some gets there cool if not no worries I’m going to get glitter later!   Then I apply a second thin coat taking care to make sure that any glitters that are deposited are where I want them, if they aren’t I might nudge them a bit with my brush.  Sometimes I can get away with two coats this is a lighter colored crelly so to smooth things out I did another thin coat and much like the first coat I’m not so worried about getting a ton of glitter on this one I just want to even everything out.  Voila that’s all there is to it!  I top it off with a nice thick topcoat or in my case I went with a glitter smoothing topcoat and a quick dry for ease and it’s smooth as glass and just gorgeous!
Polishes used:  Tip Top - Toughen Up Basecoat; Jindie Nails - Fantastical and Blue & Green’s Love Child; Gothic Gala Lacquers - Smooth Me Over; Digital Nails - Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That Topcoat
You can get Jindie Nails polishes from several fine stockists but the easiest way I’ve found is straight from her website. You can also follow Jindie on Facebook and Instagram. So, hey if you liked this you can also keep up with me on Facebook and Instagram as well!
Thank you for allowing me to take over your blog for a brief moment Shelby and Happy Blogiversary!
~~~~~~~~~~

Karel got it right, we both love Jindie! This is a brilliant combination and totally makes me want Fantastical so I can make this mani myself. Thanks for helping me celebrate and happy blogiversary to you, too, girl!

Go Green for World Mental Health Day 2014

Purchased By Shelby Lou

If you have not heard I am a professional social worker (I have a master's degree, license, and everything) and I love my work. Today is World Mental Health Day and this year the theme is "Living With Schizophrenia." Schizophrenia is a very misunderstood illness and it is so unique to each individual. I know I am in danger of getting on a soapbox here and writing a novel... suffice to say with the right treatment, medication, and support this diagnosis no longer means a lifetime sentence to an institution. To learn more about World Mental Health Day you can visit the World Health Organization (WHO) website. To learn more about schizophrenia I would recommend reading this article from the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) website.

Green is the awareness color for mental health, so today I have a green mani to share. In this look the yummy green holo base is Jindie Nails Today's the 1st Day of the Rest of Your Life. I chose this green in particular since it is also part of Jindie's Recover-Me Collection (I reviewed three others here) dedicated to addiction awareness.

MoYou London Pro XL 02
Rica Blackout

I chose to stamp an image from MoYou London Pro XL 02 in Rica Blackout. These are my holy grail brands right now for plates and stampers! I am so pleased that I was able to stamp a full mani, no sweat. This image reminded me of the horizon logo of a local mental health organization so I thought it fitting for today.

Who else is rocking green? Mental health is so important and as a person who has her own demons to battle, I am so thankful for the support I have in maintaining my mental health and it inspired me to make it my career. I hope everyone takes the opportunity today to check out some of the links I provided to learn a little more or maybe even be inspired to help, too!

Jindie Nails Recover-Me Collection

**Provided for honest review
**Purchased by me

I am so out of my swatching groove! I worked 6 days last week and I ended up being busy every day after work. Two nights my husband decided to "cook"--by taking us to a drive-in car show at an old-fashioned burger place and another night to the Italian Festival in Buffalo. He is such a good cook! We also agreed on cars we must own: a mustang (not only are they cool, they are my namesake!) and a Challenger.
Anyway, I'm happier with the length of my nails now. My pinky is still wonky from a nail tragedy a year ago, but we'll make it work. I'm not loving the angles in some of my photos but we'll make do with that, too. I feel like by my third swatch I had my mojo back ;-)

Don't forget to enter the giveaway I have going on now, you can read about the amazing prizes and enter the rafflecopter form by going to my blog post here.

I am so excited to share with you three shades from the Recover-Me Collection by Jindie Nails. Not only is this a beautiful collection, but it is all about addiction awareness. Addiction is a personal and professional issue to me, but I think Jen said it best:

"There are many people who have loved ones, husbands, wives, sisters, brothers, children with the disease of addiction.  It's a painful thing to experience whether it's affecting you, or someone you love.  This collection is dedicated to those on all sides of addiction: Those suffering from addiction themselves, anyone who's suffering watching a loved one go through this lonely disease and to all of the very special men and women who work in addictions specialty jobs, including nurses, doctors, social worker, rehab workers and especially police officers. We all appreciate the hard work you do for this never ending battle against this incurable disease. The police officers get the worst side of addiction.  One of my very best friends I grew up with was shot and killed by a crack dealer in the line of duty serving the city I grew up in on the S.W.A.T. Team...this one's for you David, love you...This collection is also for anyone else who deserves recognition for the hard work dealing with addiction.  We all appreciate the hard work you do for this never ending battle against this incurable disease."

Jindie Nails K.I.S.S.
Recover-Me Collection
K.I.S.S. is a pink crelly absolutely loaded with copper & bronze shimmer, multi-colored flakes, pink & gold shimmer, and some red hexes for good measure. So much awesome in this polish and yet applies like a dream. I have three thin coats with some gold rings and pink pearls from Born Pretty Store. It's a little over-the-top but looks Indian to me, which I love.

Jindie Nails Higher Flower
Recover-Me Collection
Next is Higher Flower, an ultra-neon pink with real silver and multi-colored flakes as well as holographic purple and silver microglitters. I have shown two easy coats (almost no clean-up!) along with a flower stud design inspired by The Lacquered Owl. This has a stain tendency, double up on base and paint carefully. Like most neons this is a pain to photograph accurately. In order to help you decide if you need it, ask yourself these questions: Do I like pink? Do I like neon? Do I like awesomely unique polishes from Jindie Nails? If you answered yes to any of these questions, better start stalking the next restock!

Jindie Nails Just Say Glow
Recover-Me Collection
I saved my favorite for last: Just Say Glow. I would like to start out by saying this is the second time I've worn this polish for multiple days. This is unheard of and I hope you understand how amazing this must be for this to happen. Just Say Glow is a a sheer rose-gold shimmer with copper and gold shimmer and glitter. I have two coats shown over two coats of OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons. Paints on just like you see it. You can also wear it in three coats without undies and will have a little VNL. This is one of the most unique polishes in my stash and I cannot even begin to describe how beautiful this is in real life. Completely classy and gorgeous. This one is in stock still on the Jindie website, and I have no idea how. Snag yours before regret sets in! I already have a back-up bottle (I know, unheard of!).

You can purchase these polishes online at Jindie's shop. Make sure you follow her on your preferred social media platform for restock updates!

Jindie Nails Rainbow Connection Exclusives: Rainbow White & Midnight Dancer

***Provided for honest review by Jindie Nails

I have some exciting polish today! Jindie sent me two exclusive polishes for Rainbow Connection, an indie brand supplier in the UK. Jindie consistently impresses me with her creativity and formula which keeps her among my top favorite indies.

The first polish I have is Midnight Dancer. She (yes, I made this polish a girl) is a deep blue jelly packed with all sorts of blue, gold, and red holographic glitters and shimmer. Big gold holo circles in here! I feel like there are hidden gold flakies, but this may be the shimmer playing tricks on me. This is a polish you can get lost in.

Jindie Nails
Midnight Dancer
Exclusively for Rainbow Connection
With all the goodness going on in here I was a little worried. Luckily the formula was good--not too thick and easy to work with. Shown is essentially three coats. I started with a thin first coat (paint carefully this can be a stainer!). I didn't want all of my circles to be dabbed on top, so in between the second and third coats I started placing a few. There were some red dots which were a little shy but I diligently fished to get some! I used two thick coats of KBShimmer Clearly On Top for a smooth finish.

Jindie Nails
Midnight Dancer
Exclusively for Rainbow Connection
If you are a circle glitter fan Midnight Dancer is a polish for you. I love the color combination and how much shimmer is packed inside. Plus, when my husband saw this he went, "That is cool." I always feel like polish approved by men gets extra points ;-)

Jindie Nails
Midnight Dancer

The second polish is Rainbow White. She is a white jelly with satin, matte, and metallic glitters in white, red, orange, melon, aqua, teal, and blue. Shapes include circles, squares, hexes, and stars! Really lovely colors and glitter mix.

Jindie Nails
Rainbow White
Exclusively for Rainbow Connection
The formula is excellent, exactly what I expect from Jindie! She really knows what she's doing with her jellies. Overall nice glitter spread. I used three thin coats and then a little fishing and dabbing for the stars and wherever I wanted to fill in. I used two thick coats of KBShimmer Clearly On Top for a smooth finish.

Exclusively for Rainbow Connection

Thoughts: I LOVE this white jelly and all the accent nail color possibilities. Midnight Dancer might be my husband's pick, but this one is mine. White jelly heaven, yes please!

Jindie Nails

I decided to do a look with China Glaze Too Yacht To Handle and a white bow a la The Lacquered Owl (love her, go check her out!). *Sigh* this mani makes me want summer.

Jindie Nails: Vixen & O Holo Night

Ugghhh. I have been so sick. This has been such a brutal winter in Buffalo and it finally caught up to me. First my Losson was sick, he had oral antibiotics for 10 days. Then Fiona was sick. Well, still is sick. She is getting eye ointment three times a day plus oral antibiotics every third day now. Now I'm trying to stave off an ear infection. Ah well, at least I've got some pretty polish to cheer me up :-)

The polishes I have today are from Jindie Nails' Holiday/Winter collection. Both colors have amazing formula and coverage--what you see is only two coats. Paint carefully and double up on base though, these do have major stain potential.

Vixen is a burgundy linear holographic polish with a smattering of color-changing flakies. Oh. My. Gawd. It is so beautiful I can't even take it. The flakies just take it to the next level. You gaze upon Vixen and know you have something special on your nails. Man, I love that feeling!

O Holo Night is a beautiful blackened navy linear holographic polish. I lemmed this so hard when it came out and it finally became mine in February! The little star stud just felt like the perfect touch.

Jindie Nails Olive You with Vivid Lacquer Stamping

I have a swatch with a lil stamping today for y'all! Olive You is a beautiful silvery sage-y olive green linear holo with metallic green/gold glitter. This is one of those polishes I waited way too long to get. Even though this came out for Fall I love it for Spring, too. This is a must-have shade for any green lover. Conversely if you want to get your feet wet with greens this is a nice way to do it since it's such a light shade with the silver feel to it. The duochrome glitter really makes this special and unique!

Jindie Nails
Olive You

Jindie Nails
Olive You
 Olive You was begging for some white vine-y stamping--can you tell I am dying for Spring? I used an image from Vivid Lacquer VL19 stamped with Konad Special White. I have yet to find a better stamping white and I already need another bottle. I like to place my stamp patterns randomly because I know I would drive myself bonkers trying to get all the nails perfectly centered. Contrary to popular belief nails should be fun, not anxiety-provoking.

Jindie Nails Olive You
With Vivid Lacquer VL19

Something about these nails makes me think about The Sound Of Music, you kno when she makes the curtains for all the kids, no? The version with Julie Andrews (and really, is there any other version worth watching?) used to be a favorite sick-day movie of mine :-)

A Box, Indied: February 2014

So I just found out I have jury duty AGAIN. Seriously, I am 27 and this is my third subpoena are you really f-ing kidding me? You might be asking, how can you have been called three times because I thought it was only every seven years? Well let me explain, there is an extra-stupid bull-crap court you can get called for in between regular jury duty, I think it's federal or something. All I know is I had to be on-call last summer for three months. Screw you, Justice, I don't have time for this. Anyway, I need to stop before I give myself an aneurysm.

How about some swatches? February's A Box, Indied from Llarowe was prety epic. Here's some quick swatches.

Jindie Nails Love Conquers All

I am not ready to give up Valentine's manis. I figure if it's February it's time for pink, red, and hearts! I have a really interesting Valentine's polish today from Jindie Nails called Love Conquers All. It is limited edition... and I mean come on, can I really not buy an LE? It made an appearance last year and it back for another run--I love second chance LEs!

Love Conquers All is a white crelly base with all sorts of satin and matte glitter goodness. And also: hearts! I went a little nuts placing the hearts on my left hand because I wanted to be able to show you all the different colors in here. I see lavender, sky blue, blue-toned red, orange-leaning red, light pink, salmon, black, and white. I love how unexpected and yet perfect for the holiday it is.

Jindie Nails Love Conquers All
Stamp: Vivid Lacquer 001
I decided to pull the blue out of the glitters for my accent nail and used OPI What's With The Cat-itude? The image is from Vivid Lacquer 001 stamped with Konad Special White. I only redid this accent 3 times hahaha! I topped the accent with HK Girl.

Jindie Nails Love Conquers All
Stamp: Vivid Lacquer 001
I used my patented (ok not technically) method of applying crellies by using a thin basecoat (Essie Marshmallow) and very thin coats of the crelly over that.  I made sure to dab a few hearts in between each thin coat for varying coverage. There are a ton of hearts available and fishing for all the colors was super easy. For my other hand I only did two to three hearts per nail. For the longest time I was using a white creme for a base but it really takes away from the crelly appearance. I like the look with the sheer white much better. I topped Love Conquers All off with two thick coats of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

There are still a few Love Conquers All left in stock, grab yours now!

Twinsies featuring Jindie Nails Sparkle On The Vine

It's still November so I have one last fall polish post to share! Earlier this fall my polish friend, Joy, and I went on a wine tour and she suggested a twinsies mani for the day. Joy is the one who introduced me to Jindie Nails so I suggested Sparkle on the Vine. This one was still in both of our untrieds and so fitting for a wine tour!

My nails are on the left and Joy's are on the right. She has gorgeous nails, doesn't she?! We used OPI Funkey Dunky, a silver foil, and small silver studs. Joy actually discovered after I stuck my studs down that she didn't have silver, so she flipped hers over and it worked out perfectly.

At the last stop I actually ripped my thumbnail really badly. I believe it ripped because I was using my nail to slide my car fob off of my key ring earlier that day. I was in a hurry and decided to ignore one of the most important nail commandments, Thou Shalt Not Use Thy Nails As Tools, but next time I will use a staple remover like I should have.
When I got home I used Orly Nail Rescue and it saved my nail until it grew out enough to not be painful when I filed it down. Joy was also the one who convinced me to buy ONR to have on hand just in case and I urge you to do the same! I will just file all of my nails into uniformity if needed, but sometimes the break is too low and that's not possible.

Later that evening, Joy sent me a picture of her thumb that had an accident with a ketchup bottle. I swear we were not *that* drunk....
You can purchase Jindie Nails on her website! Joy (IG@JoyRSerio) is now one of Jindie's social media gals, I am so proud of her :-)

What do you think of our twinsies manis? Tell me about your nail tragedies!
Love those cuticles!

Happy Jindie-ween! A day late....

I really meant to have these up on Halloween, and I'm sorry to do Jindie Nails such a disservice in this late post. When I drafted this post one of the polishes was still available... and now as I'm going to add pictures and try to get this finally posted they are both sold out. Fail. I have been a mess this week! I'm transitioning to a new job and coordinating this move is driving me insane... my stomach has literally been in knots. This is for sure the right move at the right time, but change is hard :-/
Anyway, at least I have pretty polish to help me destress!

Be-Wear The Polish
Assorted glitter shapes and finishes in varying shades of green, gray, black and purple
Swatched over China Glaze Absolutely Shore and a gray creme.

Apparently this topper also has glow-in-the-dark glitters, I didn't realize that though and have no pictures. I think I've said it before, the novelty of GITD polishes are just lost on me anyway. I still love this topper, especially over the neon purple! I used one coat and then some dabbing to fill in a few spaces. Really excellent formula and I love the extensive variety of glitters!

Be-Wear The White Polish
White crelly with assorted glitter shapes and finishes in varying shades of green, gray, black and purple

Now this is my favorite, I'm so glad I snagged it. I love white crellies like this so much. I used a white base coat, then I did a coat and smooshed (this means gently pushing...?) the glitters around, then did some dabbing where I wanted to fill in.

I really like these polishes, I think they are very appropriate for year round use, too! You can purchase Jindie Nails here.

Jindie Nails For Fall 2013: Breakfast At Tiffany's Cousins & What Are You Smokin' Mirrors

Sorry ladies, little later than I wanted to post this... I just got a awesome new job which I interviewed for on Monday. I pretty much did not sleep since Sunday because of nerves and then I didn't sleep because I knew telling my current employer was going to suck. I think I'm caught up now though!
Anyway, today I have the other two polishes I purchased from Jindie Nails from the Fall Chic collection this year. I wanted to mention again that I purchased the new 9ml bottles and they are great! I didn't use them to photograph because they were hard to pose with.

My swatches are of the two crellies: Breakfast At Tiffany's Cousins and What Are You Smokin' Mirrors. One is a swatch and one is a skittlette I wore for a day inspired by the polish.

Jindie Nails - Breakfast At Tiffany's Cousins
2 coats BATC
1 coat KBShimmer Clearly On Top

Love this crelly! BATC is a teal crelly with blue, green, maroon, and more glitters in assorted shapes and finishes. BATC applied very easily, I did a first coat with mostly the crelly base and then a second thick coat with most of the glitters. I lastly did a little dabbing to fill in where I wanted. I really like the big hexes and the little glitters which give it a speckled look.

Jindie Nails - What Are You Smokin' Mirrors

Pinky: 3 thin coats Zoya Tomoko, 1 thin coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top
Ring: 2 coats Sephora by OPI Frankly I Don't Give A-dam, studs from Born Pretty Store, 2 coats KBShimmer Clearly On Top
Middle, Index, & Thumb: 1 coat Sephora by OPI Frankly I Don't Give A-dam, 2 coats What Are You Smokin' Mirrors, 2 coats KBShimmer Clearly On Top

This was my favorite polish from Jindie's fall collection. WAYSM is a gray crelly with glitters in silver, gold, holographic, metallic, circles, shimmer, and more. This polish inspired the skittlette's colors, I just loved the gold and silver with the gray. Tomoko is a great accent and the pale gold studs make it very "Fall Chic"!
I used undies for WAYSM, then I did a thin coat with the jelly part followed by fishing and dabbing for the larger glitters. It wasn't too bad at all. I found that for this polish the glitters showed up nicer without another coat of jelly over the top.

Jindie Nails For Fall 2013: Shimmer Me Timbers & Midnight Rainbow

I've finally got some Jindie Nails to show you! This year Jindie came out with five shades for her "Fall Chic" collection and this line also debuted her new 9ml bottles. The new 9ml bottles are amazing! So easy to use and plenty of polish. I had to use a topcoat bottle for the pictures though because I couldn't pose witht he long skinny ones. I've got two of the jellies to show you today, one as a traditional swatch and one as a skittlette inspired by the polish. I did these swatches on different days, and the skittlette I felt turned out better on my right hand. Apparently I am ambidextrous when it comes to nail polish.

I want to discuss formula as they were the same for both. Jindie has some glorious glitters, jellies, and crellies which require some extra patience in applying. Shimmer Me Timbers and Midnight Rainbow both have giant circle glitters which require some fishing and dabbing, worth the effort but you might need a little practice.

Jindie Nails - Shimmer Me Timbers
2 coats basecoat--major stainer, double up on base and paint carefully!
3 coats Shimmer Me Timbers
2 coats KBShimmer Clearly On Top

Shimmer Me Timbers is an emerald green jelly with all sorts of glitter in gold, green, purple, holographic, squares, circles, hexes, and more! I like this a lot, I love greens. There is some VNL but nothing that bothers me.

Application is tricky, I had to do this swatch twice haha. For this swatch I did a thin first coat with no glitter. Then I did another coat with whatever glitters decided to be on the brush. Lastly I did a third coat by fishing and dabbing.

Oops, forgot the watermark! And a little lobster-y here :-/

Middle, Ring, & Thumb: China Glaze Liquid Leather, 2 coats Midnight Rainbow, 2 thick coats KBShimmer Clearly On Top
Pinky: Zoya Dahlia, 1 coat topcoat

Midnight Rainbow is a black jelly with rainbow shimmer and holographic circle glitters. I did a first coat with just the shimmery jelly part then dabbed and fished the big circles onto the nail.

I was initially going to stamp with a color, but I think the silver and black really feature the polish much better.

I will have some more Fall Jindies tomorrow! Did you pick any up yet?
Remember to love your cuticles as much as you love your polish :-)
