SquareHue The Moto Collection for October 2013: Swatches & Review

I feel like SquareHue is a hot-button topic. Me, I've always been fond of my SquareHues. I find that their colors are very runway-informed and not things I would typically buy for myself--usually in a good way.
SquareHue also donates a portion of their proceeds to The A 21 Campaign which is an organization devoted to raising awareness and stopping human trafficking.

I realize this collection is no longer available, but you might see them pop up on blog sales and I wanted to share my SquareHue experience!

October 2013: The Moto Collection
From left to right: Oil Slick, Iron Horse, Desert Grit

The black and orange I swatched together because they didn't look too exciting. Iron Horse is a high-gloss black creme. Desert Grit is a burnt orange textured creme. These are both shown without topcoat.

I am actually a fan! I used just two coats of Iron Horse and you can see how perfect and glossy it is. Plus I'm always in need of black cremes

I used three thin coats of Desert Grit. It could have used a thin 4th coat, I can see just a hint of visible nail line, but in person it was not noticeable. I'm glad I was forced into trying the textured cremes because I quite like this one for fall. It's a nice palette cleanser from all the shimmers, holos, and glitters I tend to wear but with a little something to keep it interesting.

Oil Slick is the third color and it's a grayish greenish purple-ish duochrome. My pictures show 3 coats no topcoat.

Essie and OPI both came out with versions of this for fall and I've seen the same duochrome color from many other brands that have been available for awhile in this color. Luckily for me I didn't have anything like this yet.

This formula was good, no finicky brushstrokes.

Hmm, I think I need to try it with a holographic, matte, or suede topcoat....

I have had no problems with my SquareHue subscription. It really is very easy and truly hassle-free. You can skip months (I think unlimited?) and they have great customer service. In July I got a polish without a label.... which for normal people probably isn't a big deal but for me it was--agh, mystery polish. Anyway, I emailed them asking if I could just have the label mailed to me. They were super nice and said they would send it right out. I ended up with the label AND an entire new July box, how awesome is that! I ended up gifting it to a dear polish friend and she loved the colors.

November's box is called "The Coastal Collection" and it looks like you can get it for $14.99 this month! To learn more or subscribe, you can visit SquareHue's website here.
